    Beautiful, but I wonder if that is the actual colour received by the Hubble; there must be some frequency lost from the light travelling for a million years.

    this is the same photo as the first they have just altered the colours in it – i suspect you may find this in a couple of other photos too

    It’s not the same photo; it’s not even from hubble. This is a combination of data taken from the Chandra X-ray telescope and the Spitzer infra-red telescope. The blue is Chandra, the red is Spitzer. There might be a small amount of optical in there but not much.
