One of the Deep Field shots; this is one of the pictures that becomes increasingly ridiculous the more you think about it. We’re looking at millions upon millions of light-years’ worth of distance with at least a few hundred galaxies, each containing a few hundred billion stars each.

The magnitude of all that is depicted in this single image from one microscopic pin-hole view of our sky is utterly incomprehensible.
